Stephanie Salazar is an MSW candidate at Columbia School of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice. In 2017, she graduated with a Bachelors from Bucknell University with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. During her undergraduate career, she focused her research on child development and psychological adjustment for BIPOC communities. After graduation, she served in Zambia with the Peace Corps for 3 years where she worked with youth as a rural education development coordinator and an HIV education facilitator. Currently, Stephanie is working in the Safe Lab as an research assistant and looking for ways to reduce bias when detecting child abuse and neglect. Stephanie aims to pursue her LCSW and become a mental health therapist for BIPOC youth dealing with trauma.
