Sarah Dillard is an MSW candidate at Columbia School of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice, and minor in Emerging Technology, Media, and Society. In 2016, she graduated with honors from Brown University with a BA in Literary Arts. Since then, she has been working on several writing projects using different narrative structures to explore the multitude of ways one can tell a story. Aside from writing, she has also volunteered at the New York State Psychiatric Institute doing rTMS research on substance use, and abuse. An avid reader, her favorites include fiction with lengthy descriptions, and memoirs on illness. She hopes to combine her creative background with innovative ways of using social work to combat racism, gender inequality, and systemic bias.
