Lena Diasti is a current second-year undergraduate at the University of Chicago studying the intersections between Human Rights and Data Science in the Fundamentals program. Lena currently resides in Chicago but is originally from Tampa, FL. Lena connected with the SAFE Lab after a member of the lab and current Doctoral student at the University of Chicago suggested her involvement given her studies and interests. She is a passionate storyteller, prioritizing people and accessibility in the work she produces and creates. Lena practices this through her work as the creator and Executive Producer of the podcast “Kinda Sorta Brown", which has been Globally Awarded by Spotify and recognized by NPR. Her commitment to delving into how technology, law, and human rights impact people and our society at large motivates her work and stake at the SAFE Lab.
